BLADDER WRACK
   The entire plant of FUCUs VEsICULOsUs. Lin. Alterative. dis cutient, secernant. Prescribed for scrofulous enlargement of glands or more often to reduce obesity.2

BLUE COHOSH (caulophyllum)CATH2
   The rhizome and root of CAULOPHYLLUM THALICTROIDEs, (L.) Michx. Sedative, antispasmodie, oxytocic, uterine tonic. Used mostly as an emmenagogue and antispasmodic.2

CLOVERTRIFO
   The flower heads of TRIFOLIUM PRATENsE, Lin. Alterative, deobstruent, antispasmodic. Used occasionally in whooping cough, more often as an alterative in scrofulous and syphilitic affections.2

CONIUM (Poison Hemlock)
   The immature fruit, also the leaves (unoflicial), oi CONIUM MACULATUM, Lin. Sedative, discutient, antispasmodic, anaphro disiac. Prescribed in cutaneous diseases, cancer and scrofulous indurations for its resolvent action, and in tetanus, chorea and acute mania as an antispasmodic and sedative.2

CRE0SOTE
   Antiseptic, germicide, analgesic. Used to relieve nausea, in treatment of tuberculosis and locally as a remedy for toothache. Dose, 0.03 to 0.30 c. c. (1/2 to 5 M), or more.2

CREOSOTIDE
   Creosote Iodide, a chemical combination of Iodine with the Guaiacol, Creosol and analogous bodies which are constituents of Beechwood Creosote. It is alterative and antiseptic, exerting a favorable influence over nutrition in wasting diseases. Wherever Iodine or Iodides are indicated, Creosotide may be prescribed. In incipient tuberculosis, it causes a gain in weight and a general improvement in symptoms. It has proved of value especially in the treatment of glandular enlargements, ofscrofulou2

ELECAMPANE
   Theroot of INULA HELENIUM, Lin. Tonic expectorant, dis cutient, diaphoretic, emmenagogue, Said to have a bactericidal action which explains its usefulness in pulmonary tuberculosis, diph_ theria and whooping cough.2

IODINE AND IODIDES
   Iodine and its compounds generally act as powerful alteratives, promoting absorption and so of service in glandular hypertrophies (e. g. goitre), enlargements of the joints, etc. P11-scribed (generally in the form of the potassium salt), in chronic syphilitic and scrofulous atfections, in subacute and chronic rheumatism, in glan dular cnlargements and to promote absorption of serous exudates. a. iodine. In addition to the properties above stated, free iodine is distinctly antiperiodic. It is too2

SODIUM CACODYLATE
   Contains arsenic, and accordingly is alterative and germicidal although scarcely poisonous. Used in tuberculosis, obstinate psoriasis, glycosuria and pseudo-leukemia. Dose, 0.06 to 0.30 Grm. (1 to 5 grs.).2

SODIUM CINNAMATE
   Used as is Cinnamic Acid in tuberculosis as a germicide. Dose, 0.02 to 0.06 Grm. (1/3 to 1 gr.), in 5 per cent. solution, injected twice a week.2
