The bark of an undetermined Bolivian tree, probably a species of NECTANDRA. The “Coto” commonly in use in this country is the variety which was formerly called “Paracoto.” Aromatic, astring ent, anodyne. Prescribed in obstinate diarrheas. in night sweats, neuralgia and rheumatism.1
