ANISEMYOD
   The fruit of PIMPINELLA Amsmvr, Lin. Stimulant, aromatic, anodyne, carminative, reputed galactagogue. Especially useful in infantile colic and as a remedy for nausea.4

ATROPINE
   Alkaloid obtained from Belladonna and other Solanaceous plants. Powerfully mydriatic, anodyne, antispasmodic, deliriant; stimulates respiratory center, suppresses secretions of skin and mucous mem brane; antagonistic to morphine. See Belladonna. Dose, 0.0003 to 9.0013 Grm. (1-200 to 1-50 gr.).4

BELLADONNAATROP
   The leaves, also the root of ATROPA BELLADONNA, Lin. My driatic, a deliriant narcotic, analgesic, antispasmodic. Suppresses secretion of skin and mucous membranes; antagonistic to Morphine. Externally applied to relieve pain, to restrain secretion of milk and for its effect on the eye.    The bark of CANELLA WINTERANA, (L.) Gaertn. Aromatic, stimulant and stomachic carminative.4

DUBOISIADUBOI
   The leaves of DUBOISIA MYOPOROIDES, R. Br. Resembles Bella donna in its medicinal properties, but more distinctly hypnotic and calmative. The extract, also the alkaloid derived from the leaves, is used to produce mydriasis, its action being more prompt than that of atropine, and the effect passing off more quickly.4

JABORANDI (Pilocarpus)PIJA2
   The leaves of PILOCARPUS SELLOANUS, Eng. and other species of Pilocarpus. A powerful diuretic, sialagogue and expectorant, antagonistic in action to belladonna. Increases the mammary secretion; reduces temperature and depresses the circulation. Used in dropsies and wherever a powerful eliminant is indicated. Active principle, Pilocarpine, q. v.4

ASTHMA
   ... immediate relief, the smoke from mixtures of stramonium or henbane leaves with nitre and a little extract of opium, or from nitre paper or tobacco; belladonna or henbane, lobelia, morphine (used with due caution); in selected cases, amyl nitrite or nitroglyce rin. Sometimes strong coffee will relie... / ...from gastric irrita tion, trea cause. In any case consider question of a change of residence.4

BOILS
   To abort, paint the part with a solution of silver nitrate, 20 to 40 grs. to fl. oz. or apply... / ...phorated oil or inject a few drops of a 5% solution of carbolic acid. If these fail, apply Glycero plasma or a flaxseed meal poultice, with opium or belladonna to re lieve pain. Internally, sulphurated lime to prevent suppuration and appropriate tonic and restorative remedies. When suppuration occur...4

BRONCHITIS
   In the incipient stage, quinine with a little Dover powder and a laxative may ward off the attack. If inflammatory action is estab lished, active... / ...calyptol and similar remedies. Eucalyptol in spray or by inhalation is very eflicient. When there is hypersecretion, avoid ammonium chloride and use belladonna, strychnine and counter-irritation.4

CALCULI. RENAL OR VESICAL
   Pain, (renal colic) must be treated with chlorodyne, belladonna in full doses, morphine and atropine hypodermatically, cautious in hzilations of chloroform. Remedies depend on nature of the calculus.4

CHORDEE
   Internally, potassium bromide and chloral; lupulin; a combina tion of camphor, henbane and opium; suppositories of belladonna. Locally, application of hot water; belladonna ointment over corpus spongiosum.4

CONSTIPATION
   Medicate no more than is necessary. CROUP, SPASMODIC
   During attack, patient may be placed in a hot bath, the atmosphere of the room being kept saturated with steam; as remedies, antimonial wine, a combination of chloral with bromides and bella donna, amyl nitrite, relaxants. Between attacks, general roborant treatment, pure air, avoidance of causes of irritation, bromides to diminish susceptibility.4

CYSTITIS

DIABETES INSIPIDUS
   If dependent on vaso-motor relaxation, ergot, extract suprarenal glands; astringents, particularly gallic acid and rhus aromatica. If due to nervous irritability, belladonna, nervines, bromides. Tonics are generally indicated, particularly iron and strychnine.4

EPIDIDYMITIS
   Use antipyretic and anodyne remedies as indicated. Apply locally an ointment of guaiacol or a solution of silver nitrate. Keep patient in bed if possible, with pelvis elevated, or else keep the part at rest by an appropriate dressing. After acute symptoms have sub sided treat resulting induration with mercurial and belladonna ointments or with lanolin, giving iodides internally.4

EPILEPSY
   During the seizure, amyl nitrite is the remedy most likely to be of service; chloroform must be... / ...dy than potassium bromide. In syphilitic cases potassium iodide in full doses must be used instead of the bromide. Other remedies of im portance are belladonna (combined with bromides), cannabis indica, digitalis, horse-nettle and chloral hydrate. In children, ascertain whether the irritation is due...4

GALACTORRHEA
   The most eflicient local remedy is an ointment containing bella donna and camphor. Internally, potassium iodide, belladonna, anti pyrin and chloral hydrate are of service.4

GOITRE
   In simple Goitre (Bronchocele), ointment of mercuric iodide or tincture iodine externally; creosotide or potassium iodide and extract of thymus gland internally. In Exophthalmic Goitre, belladonna, strophanthus. ergot and sparteine are among the remedies that have been found serviceable. Extract of suprarenal capsules promises good results.4

INCONTINENCE OF URINE
   In the nocturnal incontinence of children, remove first any source of reflex irritation, such as worms or long prepuce or excessive acidity or alkalinity of urine. Belladonna, nux vomica, ergot, rhus aroma tica, tincture ferric chloride are among the remedies found service able. Nervous incontinence in adults is best treated with can tharides (one drop of the tincture three times a day) combined with lithiated Ze-an.4

INFLUENZA
   The remedies most prescribed in the early stage are; aconlte and potassium citrate to control the febrile symptoms; phenacetin or acetanilid, often combined with... / ...a safe sedative in these cases. Combat the peculiar depression as the case progresses by strychnine or nux vomica in full doses, combined often with belladonna.4
