Physician's Materia Medica on Liquidambar

STORAX
   A balsam prepared from LIQUIDAMBAR ORIENTALIs. Mill. Properties of Copaiba, but little used except as a constituent of Compound Tincture of Benzoin, q. v. under Benzoin.2

SWEET GUM
   The bark of LIQUIDAMBAR STYRACIFLUA, Lin. Mucilaginous, astringent. Useful in diarrhea and dysentery.2
