CINNAMON. SAIGON
   The barkpf an undetermined species of CINNAMOMUM. Highly aromatic and somewhat astringent. Prescribed as a carminative and for its specific action in passive menorrhagia and metrorrhagia. As a rule the Saigon Cinnamon is considerably stronger than Cassia, q. v.1

Physician's Therapeutics Memoranda on Menorrhagia And Metrorrhagia

MENORRHAGIA AND METRORRHAGIA
   If hemorrhage is active, ergot is the best remedy, if passive. oil of erigeron (3 m5 minim doses) has the preference. Fluid extract cinnamon is a favorite remedy with some; Elixir Viburnum Com pound, N., B. & Co., is efficient; cannabis indica, black haw, witch hazel (distilled extract) and bromides of potassium and sodium are all useful.1
