   Burnt Sponge, Spongia Tosta. The skeleton of Spongia officinalis, Linné, Class: Poriphera; Order: Ceratospongia, roasted brown in a closed vessel and reduced to powder. Dose, 30 to 180 grains. Preparation.—Specific Medicine Spongia. Dose, 1 to 10 drops. Specific Indications.—Croup; enlarged thyroid.
