   The root of BAPTISIA TINCTORIA, (L.) R. Br. Alterative, hepatic stimulant, emetic, cathartic, antiseptic; used with advantage in typhoid conditions and septicemia; topically applied to foul, irritable and painful ulcers, and wherever there are fetid discharges.1
