ZINC OLEATE
The preparation so named is in fact usually a mixture of Oleate with Palmitate and Stearate, occurring in the form of a powder quite free from grittiness. Very useful in excessive perspiration of the feet, in moist eczema and similar conditions; applied by dusting over the surface, also in ointments used like Zinc ointment.1

BALANITIS
Keep parts clean by frequent bathing in pure water; to disinfect use solution boric acid, 1%; silver nitrate, 2 gr. to fl. o2.; Iodosyl oint ment, 6% ; carbolic acid, 1.5%; potassium permanganate, 1 gr. to fl, oz. If there is active inflammation apply lotion of lead water. For dust ing powder zinc oleate, Iodosyl or zinc oxide.1

Sponge daily with solution of borax containing a little ammonia or sodium bicarbonate to cleanse; follow with antiseptine or other local antiseptic. As dusting powder use zinc oleate with boric acid, or talcum powder with boric and benzoic or salicylic acids.1

Use dusting powder of boric acid and zinc oleate or of talcum with a little salicylic acid and atropine (1-16 gr. to the ounce); oint ment of formalin (10 per cent.).1
