Internally, silver nitrate and resorcin with codeine or morph ine, antacids, especially sodium bicarbonate with bismuth subcar bonate; counter-irritation by tincture iodine or mustard leaves; antiemetics as needed; for hematemesis, emulsion of oil turpentine, antipyrin, alum or other styptic; suprarenal extract. Bowels must be regulated by enemata.2
