ZINC BROMIDE
   Prescribed for internal administration as a substitute for Zinc Oxide, in epilepsy, etc. It is questionable whether it has ever any advantage over the Oxide. Dose. 0.03 to 0.06 Grm. (1/2 to 1 gr.).2

ZINC OXIDE
   Tonic, antispasnmdic, astringent. Used internally as a nerve sedative in epilepsy, hysteria, chronic alcoholism, etc.; as a remedy of unquestioned value in colliquative sweats, also in diarrhea, par ticularly of dysenteric type. Its most important use, however. is as a soothing and protecting application, in form of an ointment, to burns, scalds, ulcers, wounds, fissures, moist eruptions of the skin, etc. Dose, 0.06 to 0.50 Grm. (1 to 8 grs.).2

(10 to 30 grs.).2

   Keep parts clean by frequent bathing in pure water; to disinfect use solution boric acid, 1%; silver nitrate, 2 gr. to fl. o2.; Iodosyl oint ment, 6% ; carbolic acid, 1.5%; potassium permanganate, 1 gr. to fl, oz. If there is active inflammation apply lotion of lead water. For dust ing powder zinc oleate, Iodosyl or zinc oxide.2

   A lotion of mecuric chloride, 3 grs., milk of almonds, 4 fl. ozs., ap plied night and morning is aneflicient remedy; boric acid in saturat ed aqueous solution; a solution of zinc sulphocarbolate, 5 grs. to the fl. oz.; a lotion of rose water and glycerin with zinc oxide and a little ammoniated mercury; hydrogen peroxide.2
